Australia’s Top 50 Manufacturers for 2024 were announced on Thursday 18th of April 2024 at Cockle Bay Wharf’s rooftop L’Aqua venue. Presented by AuManufacturing, the prestigious list brings attention to the courageous companies that are shaping the future of manufacturing in Australia.
MEMKO is honoured to have received Silver recognition within AuManufacturing’s list of Top 50 Most Innovative Manufacturers in Australia for 2024. MEMKO’s Brenton Dodd attended the breakfast announcement event, held in line with Australian Manufacturing Week in Sydney.
The award is a testament to the dedication, creativity and hard work of the MEMKO team in our commitment to building advanced manufacturing capabilities in Australia through innovation projects, technology and training. We’d also like to thank all our clients and partners – your continuous trust and support have been instrumental in this achievement.
We define innovation as a continuous improvement to generate sustainable value through collaboration, research and engineering excellence. MEMKO strongly believes in continuous innovation and simplifying complex problems with first principle of engineering, considering future technology stack and empowering engineers on it to generate sustainable value.
MEMKO approaches industry-relevant problem statements with an engineering first principle to define solutions and propose a sustainable roadmap for the success of innovation. This also takes into consideration of future workforce enablement to support industry adoption as well as identifying continuous innovation opportunities for researchers.
We had brought two products from concept to prototype ready for scalable manufacturing in the last 3 –5 years. We have developed capability and capacity to support our innovation model which requires skilled people, technology and collaboration with stakeholders. This powers our plans for opening other innovation programs as the workbench is established and tested with two products. We are constantly seeking opportunities and collaboration with Industry partners to continuously evaluate product development opportunities. We remain open to doing so for other manufacturers under the build, operate and transfer (BOT) business model.

Modular Electronic Capable Air Target (MEACAT) is a product developed by MEMKO showcased at the Avalon Airshow in 2023. Phase 2 is underway with significant investment of resources and digital tools from MEMKO to take the product to different markets.
MEMKO is also in the development stage for its second product; Non-Intrusive Flight Test Instrumentation (NIFTI) which is a close collaboration between industry and the RAAF Air Warfare Centre (AWC). Designed by flight test crew, NIFTI is a small, rapidly configurable, aircraft independent, wireless sensing system. It comprises a Gateway, multiple wireless Sensor Nodes and an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). NIFTI revolutionises aircraft flight testing, making flight trials faster, cheaper and more flexible. The solution is to be released in 2024.
MEMKO has also developed an industry capability development model for helping SMEs adopt advanced manufacturing capabilities. The concept has been developed in partnership with Manufutures at Deakin University to enable advanced manufacturing capabilities both for industries and academia students.
MEMKO is a prime partner at iLAuNCH trailblazer to develop the Australian industry grow its space manufacturing capability. We have sponsored PhD students to undertake research along with USQ and Boeing which will generate knowledge, workforce and research work for industry capability development for space.
These initiatives ultimately led MEMKO to become a finalist in the Victorian Government’s Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards in 2023.
