Basil holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Auckland. He has been working in the aviation industry for the past 6 years and was involved in several projects ranging from small repair mods to major projects. His experience ranges from aircraft design, certification, flight testing, manufacturing and aircraft weight & balance. Basil’s key projects were:
- Design and certification work for AW139 rescue helicopter fit out for Western Australia and Queensland Governments.
- Worked in New Zealand as a Flight Test Engineer for the 750XL SuperPAC aircraft.
- Conducting weight & balance work (fixed wing and rotorcraft) for a number of operators around Australia.
