MEMKO Presents at APICAM 2025

Advancing Additive Manufacturing in Aviation

Last week, MEMKO proudly participated in 4th Asia-Pacific International Conference on Additive Manufacturing (APICAM) 2025, held at RMIT University in Melbourne. This well-attended 3-day event showcased the latest innovations in Additive Manufacturing across aerospace, defence, biomedical, and beyond.

The conference featured multiple presentations across several rooms, bringing together researchers, engineers, and industry leaders driving the future of advanced manufacturing.

MEMKO was represented by Aerospace Engineer, Dr Akesh Senanayake and Head of Design, Paul Spooner, who delivered a detailed presentation titled: The Development and Approval Journey for Additive Manufacturing of Aircraft Interior Spare Parts”. This presentation explored MEMKO’s end-to-end process for designing, producing and certifying 3D printed spare parts for aircraft interiors

This year, MEMKO became the first Australian organisation approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to fit 3D printed parts to commercial aircraft. All parts are designed and manufactured at our Melbourne CBD headquarters, and over 150 certified components have already been delivered to our airline customers. Our service reduces turnaround from months to under a week, helping aircraft return to service faster and more efficiently.
