Showcasing NIFTI at the Australian Flight Test Symposium

MEMKO was proud to actively contribute to the 15th Australian Flight Test Symposium (AFTS), hosted by the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Directorate of the Royal Australian Air Force at the University of Newcastle.

The AFTS is an annual forum for flight test and evaluation professionals, hosted by the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Directorate of the Royal Australian Air Force and the University of Newcastle. Bringing together defence, industry and academia, the Symposium is a great platform to share insights on emerging technologies and best practices in flight testing.

Flight test programs are increasingly integrating electric aircraft, autonomous systems, and advanced instrumentation. MEMKO’s participation ensures we remain aligned with these industry developments while also showcasing solutions that address evolving requirements.

Day 1 concluded with a networking session, offering a valuable opportunity to connect informally with fellow participants and exchange ideas in a collaborative setting.

MEMKO also delivers training courses for continued education in aviation and aerospace, micro credentials for upskilling in digital manufacturing and official Dassault Systèmes software certification.

Technical Presentation

We were pleased to have the opportunity to present on our Non-Intrusive Flight Test Instrumentation (NIFTI). Pieter Penhall, NIFTI Program Director, outlined the system’s development, core capabilities and practical applications. Of particular interest were the case studies showing how NIFTI enables accurate data acquisition without intrusive aircraft modifications, streamlining flight test programs and reducing downtime.

Interactive Demonstrations

In addition to the presentation, MEMKO hosted a dedicated information stand where our Mechatronics Engineer, Bridget Chan delivered live demonstrations of NIFTI. These sessions allowed attendees to explore the technology firsthand, ask technical questions and understand how NIFTI can be applied to their own test environments.

Over the past year, MEMKO has concentrated on development, testing and version updates for NIFTI, ensuring the system meets the evolving needs of flight test programs. With a growing client base in Australia and internationally (including India to Türkiye), NIFTI is now being applied in both classroom training environments and real-world flight tests.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share more user case examples and insights in the coming year as adoption continues to expand across the aerospace sector.
