Biography

Sophie Windust is an aspiring electrical engineer with a strong foundation in complex power systems, compliance framework development, and multidisciplinary project leadership. Currently studying Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering alongside Commerce (Finance) at Monash University, she has actively combined technical engineering rigor with strong commercial acumen. Throughout her early career, Sophie has focused on accelerating the adoption of sustainable infrastructure and advanced electrical systems, ensuring engineering designs meet strict Australian standards and practical operational requirements.
 
Sophie specialises in conceptual electrical design, regulatory compliance engineering, and systems modeling. Her work centres on the integration of power networks and industrial automation, including developing concepts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and analysing technical benchmarks across the electrical, instrumentation, and control (EI&C) sectors. By leveraging specialised engineering platforms like PowerCAD alongside financial evaluation methodologies, she ensures that complex energy assets are designed for peak efficiency, safety, and long-term viability.
 
Across her career, Sophie has demonstrated exceptional leadership and cross-functional management capability, notably serving as the Chief Operations Officer and Events and Sponsorship Lead for Monash Human Power. In these roles, she managed complex stakeholder relationships, oversaw critical operational lifecycles, and led community outreach initiatives designed to encourage future generations to enter the engineering pipeline. Her hands-on involvement across student team leadership and professional site environments equips her with strong practical communication and project delivery capabilities.
 
Sophie brings to MEMKO a strong capability in electrical systems integration, technical standard validation, and collaborative operational leadership.
