MBSE Fundamentals for Mission Engineering

This course provides a foundational understanding of Model‑Based Systems Engineering applied to mission and enterprise engineering. It focuses on the use of the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) to define, design, and analyse complex Systems of Systems that deliver mission or enterprise outcomes.

• Introduction to mission engineering, systems thinking, and model‑based mission concepts
• Introduction to the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) for modelling Systems of Systems
• Applying CATIA Magic to define, analyse, and assess mission and enterprise architectures
• Understanding UAF domains, modelling‑based analysis, and adoption strategies for mission engineering

Participants will learn how to use the CATIA Magic MBSE toolset to create, review, and analyse enterprise and mission models. Through a combination of instructor‑led sessions and practical laboratory activities, the course demonstrates how model‑based approaches enable informed decision making, mission analysis, and organisational transformation within a digital engineering context.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand how MBSE supports the design, delivery, and sustainment of complex Systems of Systems.
• Understand key MBSE language and tool concepts using UAF and CATIA Magic to specify, define, and analyse mission and enterprise architectures.
